OutBack Plus will generally attempt to close Windows Messenger before doing the backup. When the backup is complete, OutBack Plus will restart the "messenger" it it had previously been closed by OutBack Plus.

Microsoft sets the Windows Messenger to start automatically when your machine starts. You probably don't even know it is running.

You can tell OutBack Plus to skip the restart of the messenger as follows:

1.go to the OBP menu "Tools" - "Close and Start Programs"
2.select the Windows Messenger item
3.choose "Properties"
4.remove the check from "Start...."
5.do "Save" and "Save All"
