How to transfer "Windows Contacts" [from Vista] to XP |

The Windows Contacts can be copied from Vista to XP as follows:
1. On Vista - open the Windows Explorer (click "Start" - "Computer").
2. Double-click on the "C" drive.
3. Double click on the "Users" folder.
4. Double click on your user name.
5. Click on the "Contacts" folder (to select it).
6. Look at the tool bar -- it should show an "Export" button.
7. Click the Export button.
8. Choose "CSV (Comma Separated Values)".
9. Click "Export".
10. Save the exported file to some handy folder on a device you can use on the XP machine.
11. Run Outlook Express on the XP machine.
12. Click on the "Address Book" icon (on the OE toolbar).
13. Go to the Address Book menu "File" - "Import" - "Other Address Book".
14. Choose "Text File (Comma Separated Values)".
15. Click Import.
16. Locate the file from step 10... Open it.
17. Import the data into the Address Book.
Note - the CSV export/import will not handle groups and it may create duplicates.
